Photos on this page provided by Erin and Eddie of Bonwicke
(who were attending their first SCA event) and Lord Dragonetti.

On the left,  Lord Chiang and Lord Erasmus during the Ransom Tourney. On the right, Centruion Romanius bids his teammates to stay their ground while he honorably challenges the enemy's lone survivor, Lord Chiang, to single sword combat.

Following the Ransom Tourney, the Centurions, whose Order requires proficiency in at least 2 weapon styles, sponsored an unpadded glaive tourney. Lord Geoffrey of Elfsea and Cahira of Bonwicke square off as Centurions Kern, Romanius and Gustav marshaled. At right, Ansteorra's seneschal, Master Richard Fairbourne and Lord Armand observe the glaive tourney.

To the left, Ld. Armand and a visitor from the Outlands face off. At right, Lord "Oz" Erasmus, had an impressive day on the field of honor, testing the worthiness of many an opponent's armor. :-) While all of his shots were honorably delivered and no one was seriously injured, Ld Erasmus did knock off one helm, (due to a poor chin strap) and also served up a glaive shot to the face that sent his opponent's gorget flying off behind him. His Majesty admonished Oz to 'Stop destroying everyone's armour!' to which Oz froze in place and replied......"Yes your Majesty", sporting a somewhat confused or hopeful look reminiscent of a child caught doing something suspicious, but not sure if he'd really been caught. :-)

At left, Their Excellencies of Bonwicke, Baron & Baroness, Vallust & Ascelyn Balestene, enter in procession preceding evening court. On the right, Their Stellar Majesties, Alric & Kayleigh Drake, Rex & Regina Ansteorra.

On the left, Centurion Romanius presenting Her Majesty with the prize from the ransom tournament. He and his fellow victors fought for Her Majesty rather than individual glory. On the right, Centurions Kern, Romanius and HL Gustav were present as His Majesty names Lord Daniel de Bourdon, their newest Centurion brother from the Shire of Adlersruhe.

Princess Sara approaches the throneAt left, Lady Oriana Francesco was called into court several times. She won the A&S competition, received her thistle in costuming, and received the Keeper of the cross (Bonwicke's new Baronial award). In addition, she scribed most of the wonderful scrolls presented in this court. On the right, many in the room showed their extreme appreciation when Lady Joanna Tunsend received her Iris of Merit. Vivat!

A very surprised, Lady Eleanor, was not-so-surprisingly named to the Court of Ansteorra as well. Vivat! Baroness Eleanor!

On the left, Their Majesties presenting Her Excellency! The coronet placed on Lady Eleanor's head by Queen Kayleigh hold's special meaning to Her Majesty, and now likewise for HE Eleanor. That coronet was used by Her Majesty during her reign as Baroness of Bonwicke and given her by then Baron Alric Drake, now our King. In addition, the coronet was itself hand-made by Baron Alric, adding even more significance. So now, Eleanor de Broke, Baroness to the court of Ansteorra, wears a coronet hand-made by the King himself and of special memory to Her Majesty.
