At
left, Pirates invade the peaceful Barony of Steppes. At right, Steppes' defenses
are quickly arrayed.
The onslaught begins! The carnage was quite a spectacle.....simply gruesome.
The defender's shield wall temporarily halted the advance of this bloodthirsty
brigand. But then reinforcements arrived and the plunder was afoot anew.
Victory was swift and sweet for the invaders. Pete "Peetie" the
Pirate was pleased with the pillaging.
Seeing the veracity of the cut-throats, Baron Fritz stalled for time and
entered into negotiations with the apparent leader of the enemy. 
It
was a brilliant tact by Baron Fritz, alas, he is too forthright and the wily
pirates, accustomed to deceit, detected the ruse and laughed in his face as they
broke off negotiations.
